@lushcosmetics102 that’s true but I used a condom and there’s a huge possibility I’m pregnant so that true but not true the best way to prevent pregnancy is not having sex at all I really should’ve waited but shit happens I still didn’t take a test yet but I’m gonna take one soon

I’m 11 and I have never had sex but my stomach is really firm! Does that mean I am pregnant?

well i feel people who arent planning for a child may sometimes slip up sometimes but don’t put them down b/c they didnt use contraceptives,..a child is a blessing and if not your own personal blessing they are a blessing to someone who cannot conceive… think before you let it go!

@sSynesthesiaX i dont know if you have any places like that where you live, but ours is fabulous. it would be worth looking in to. for example, in my income bracket, i pay $20 for a routine gynecological exam w/ pap smear. and $20 for a dental cleaning and check up. and this is in RI where the cost of living is ridiculously high.

i know youre a female…i use the term “dude” regardless of sex, sorry if you find it offensive. contraceptives can be free to obtain. you mention planned parenthood, they provide free condoms. if one can’t afford to protect themselves, then theyshouldnt be having sex in the first place. and i hear you on the cost of an ob/gyn. i am in a low income bracket myself and i no longer go to planned parenthood since their rates went up, i now go to a community health center.

@breemystic gah I mean *since my primary physician’s rate for a routine check up is 90.00.

  13. breemystic said on November 27, 2011 at 1:49 pm

@sSynesthesiaX Since the PP rate for a routine check up including pap smear is usually 90.00. My concern is how are low income women who don’t have insurance, I don’t can’t afford it. I’m self-employed, so I pay the full insurance rate, instead of a group rate. A lot of places of work, don’t even provide insurance and in some cases only contraceptive pills are covered and some people can’t take them at the same time everyday, where they would be most effective.

@sSynesthesiaX And did it occur to you that contraceptives are not the cheapest things in the world, that an ob/gyn isn’t cheap? I live in the Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region, that due to the introduction of Ohio HB 298 that makes it so Federally Qualified Health Centers gets Family Planning money first and then Planned Parenthood is 3rd on the list of types of family planning organizations. My visit there went from 30.00 for a routine visit to 96.00. I’m now going to my family doctor,

@sSynesthesiaX …and contraceptives and how to use them and where they can get access to them, how are they supposed to prevent pregnancy. Now I was lucky, when I was 17, I finally moved in the area that the city bus ran and I could read books and look up websites on how to prevent pregnancy, but there are some who have parents that watch their every move and where they go and where they get their information from all the way up through a strict anti-sex Biblical Conservative College.

@sSynesthesiaX I’m a female not a dude, and when someone says, I find it hard to believe. That is a form of questioning what I went through. And I’m tired of it, I’ve had people say. I find that hard to believe, and I think that’s just a talking point and that you knew that sex for females=pregnancy or babies.

Yes, You and I clearly came from different backgrounds.

And with your whole, it’s easy to prevent a pregnancy. If a female is sheltered and isn’t taught about pregnancy and…

many of the comments i read on here were undoubtedly from those kinds of people. its very frustrating to know that its so easy to prevent a pregnancy (aside from the off chance that the birth control method fails, as we’ve previously established), and yet still people take their chances and then flip out when they are possibly pregnant. that was my main concern and still is. its just kind of sad.

@breemystic dude, way to go on the defensive! i’m not calling you a liar, i said i find it hard to believe. different backgrounds i guess. it was something i learned at a very young age (not the ins and outs of it, but just a very basic understanding) im not trying to start an argument, im just merely stating my opinion, that prevention is the best measure. i know far too many people who have had multiple abortions and keep on fucking without any regard to the consequences.

@sSynesthesiaX I’m at least glad that you’re for comprehensive sex education. That’s good. Keep pushing for that.

  20. breemystic said on November 27, 2011 at 5:43 pm

@sSynesthesiaX The only thing my parents told me about sex, was well nothing. My family was even prudish about my period and handed me a book just about my period and other development associated with puberty and were sure to tell me that I couldn’t use tampons before I was married, because otherwise, I was a slut.

Again, don’t make personal attacks on teenagers because their parents don’t teach them and won’t allow their schools to teach them. I’m sick of that and being called a liar.
