Question by Jae: Potty training tips for 2 year old?
I am currently in the stage of potty training my 2 year old son. We use diapers at night and pulls up during the day. Any tips or suggestions to get him more into the potty mode? He knows about it has used the potty once lol. He holds number 2 when we are out and goes as soon as we get home. He’s dry in the morning and he understands “holding” and “going” but some times he still just sits there and doesn’t go but will once he has his diaper on. So any tips would be great! Also is it true that boys are harder to train then girls?

First of all, in my experiences, boys and girls are equally hard.
If you are home with him all day, I suggest that you put him in “Big Boy” underwear. This will help him to understand the feeling he has when he needs to go, cause when he goes it will run down his legs immediately, therefore helping him to associate the urge and the outcome. Yes, this is a bit messy, but I have found that the children think that pull ups are just a different kind of diaper. Therefore, it seems ok to just potty in the “diaper”.
Anyway, persistence is the best thing right now. Put him on the potty quite frequently for now cause you want to get “lucky” and get him to go in the potty more so he can understand what he is to do. He will catch on soon enough.
Good Luck!
