Yes it's important because i feel like they have power, even though they might feel like they can't do anything with them self. also, gives them independence and confidence. It's very need for them...

Yes, I think it is important to give toddlers an opportunity to make their own choices. However, giving them too much is not great either. The toddlerhood period is when they begin to develop a sense of self therefore allowing them to take part in making choices may boost their self-esteem. Certain choices, such as picking out what to wear or picking out which book to read give them a sense of autonomy.  Also from a psychological perspective, Erik Erikson’s theory states that during toddlerhood, children are at a stage of autonomy vs. shame and doubt. There needs to be a balance within the competing factors for healthy psychosocial development to occur. If this stage is resolved successfully, the child will feel independent and confident. Parents should encourage the child to learn to do new things, but also stay by their sides so that they can help them when they need assistance.

As you know that play is the part of fun for kids and also for adults.so,  I think this is very important to give toddlers an opportunity to make their own choices.because when this stage will solved successfully, than the child will not feel dependent and they feel confident.

Yes, thats really true we should give the toddler their own choice. My son is 26 months old and he has his own choices for him , he wants to do all things of his own  now  . I was very much worried about his diet as he would used to refuse for everything i used to feed him, I got many good tips for feeding my toddler at www.Buklin.com. It really worked for me.
