I have been a fan of Train’s music for quite a while now.  If you aren’t familiar with them, they have been around since 1998.  Remember “Meet Virginia”?  That was their big hit from their debut album.  Then their 2nd album came out with “Drops of Jupiter” and their popularity skyrocketed.  I’ve been a fan ever since.  My kids actually really enjoy their music as well, which is great because it’s something I feel comfortable with them listening to on the radio.  My son can’t stop singing their newest smash, “Drive By” (and if I am being honest, neither can I!)  Although my all time favorite song is “Marry Me” (and “Soul Sister,” and “If It’s Love.” Lol)  from their last album, “Save Me, San Francisco.”  Pat Monahan’s voice is truly amazing!

Anyway, Train is actually on tour right now promoting their newest album, “California 37.”   You can check out their tour dates at http://trainline.com.  Their new album is also for sale on amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/California-37-Train/dp/B007G3H8Y0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334676539&sr=8-1) or you can also buy it on iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/california-37/id514598046.

They even have a Facebook page, so make sure you like them on there! http://www.facebook.com/Train

I am so glad that Train has a new album out!  It’s honestly just as amazing as the others, which is why I want to pass along this info to all of the other moms out there!

As someone who believes we learn from examples, I’m here to tell parents of  teenagers when it comes to motivating teenagers it really does begin with you  the parents. If you are trying to find ways of motivating teenagers to work, you  must set the example yourself. You will only gain their respect to follow your  advice when you yourselves practice what you preach. Show how the teen can  positively benefit by having the freedom to obtain things they want with their own money.

We all have responsibilities, such as raising children and getting to work on time, but to live a life of true freedom and enjoyment, financial security is critical.

In any form, money is essential for survival. We need money for transportation, hygiene, shelter, clothing, food, and of course the little extras. There is no escaping the need for money to purchase necessities, whether you are considered wealthy or poor in socioeconomic standards, money is essential to living.

I'm considering joining an online college program and am going through all the pros and cons. One major thought is my kids - a lot of online programs tailor themselves on being flexible, with night classes or going at your own pace. However, I wanted to get some feedback from anyone who personally went through that experience. Any stories, good or bad? Much appreciated!

I’m looking for some opinions or stories from people who have gone through/are going through/are thinking about going through this.

Back story-
My husband and I have been married just under 2 years. We do not have kids of our own; we do plan on having them when we are more financially stable.

We have friends, who are women, and married. We aren’t that close to them, but we’ve known them for about 5 years, and one of them happens to be my boss. We have been asked if we would possibly donate my husband’s sperm.

My husband says yes, he doesn’t mind. Who knows what he really thinks.
I’m okay with it. I want to help someone; maybe I’ll need someone to help me someday. I have set a few rules if this were to happen. We would need to sign all the legal stuff saying he has no rights or obligations to this child. They would like it to be possible for the child to meet my husband if she/he wants to later on, and we are okay with that. I am fine knowing that I will see pictures of this child daily (depending how long I work there, it’s only a retail job for now). I understand that this is different for me vs. my husband because it’s not my sperm. But I truly believe I can look at this child and just see it as my friend’s child. It doesn’t mean I won’t be in the child’s life, it just means I’ll be their mom’s friend.

We are keeping this quiet right now, we have talked about it in the past however and I know my mom is very very very much against it.

We are only discussing the idea right now, so I’m looking for any advice anyone has. However if you are homophobic then you have no place in this discussion. Thank you!

Give your answer to this question below!

Answer by Take Care Man
What to Expect When You’re Expecting… Hands down this is one of the best books out there and its everywhere. Highly recommend it.
 Good Luck!

Both of them are absolute, positively HORRID books. I highly recommend the Dr. Sears line of pregnancy and baby books. They are more up to date than those other books which contain a lot of very old information that is way out of date, some of it dangerous in my opinion. The Dr. Sears books are wonderful and answered way more questions that I had about pregnancy and birth than any other book.

What to Expect when you’re Expecting!! Its a life saver for me, I turn to it for all my ailments and concerns. They also have a website where you can get updates on the baby at the time in your pregnancy, if you give them your email address. Its awesome! I love it.

I liked Your Pregnancy Week by Week better. I have both and What to Expect when You’re Expecting freaked me out — there is a lot of things they mention in that book that can be anxiety provoking.

I read books for my first pregnancy — but now that I’m on my second I’ve stayed away from them for the most part. And, I’m A LOT happier because of it.

There is even a New York Times article about What to Expect — and I AGREE with it:
 http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/15/fashion/thursdaystyles/15EXPECT.html

“”It reinforces every negative, paranoid worry that everyone going through a pregnancy for the first time has,” said Ron Sullivan, a new father in Philadelphia, who warned in the reader reviews on Amazon.com that “What to Expect” “will make your life utterly miserable for the next nine months.”"

I LOVED Your Pregnancy Week By Week! I didn’t care much for What to expect when you’re expecting.

My little son requested a cowboys-themed birthday party, and I've been stretched for time trying to plan it. I have a cake ready, and all the decorations, but my main problem is the entertainment. What type of games would go well with a western theme?

These are the type of decorations that I've bought, maybe I can have a robbers and sheriffs type of game with the hats in their store...your tips would be greatly appreciated!
